Expert Author Ian Ross Hollander
Are you an author, artist, internet marketer or aspiring entrepreneur who would LOVE to build buzz for your brand? Do you have great ideas, but a very small audience of people paying attention? Are you sick and tired of following internet marketing gurus, or trying "gimmicks" that are doomed to disappoint? I want to share with you a very simple, evergreen content marketing strategy that can literally transform your brand, blog, business and bank account... and make it happen in under a week as well.
Curious but not yet convinced? Continue reading as we take a closer look below.
A quick case study
In early May, we did a quick case study experiment for an aspiring author who wanted to sell more client consultations, and hoped to use her Amazon books to build "buzz" for her brand, and business. She is a spiritual "teacher" and author in the "psychic" development space. (an area and expertise where I am personally agnostic)
Believe it or not, her first book was selling fairly well, and was making anywhere from 5-10 sales per day at 2.99 per book.
But, her primary goal, which was failing in a big way, was to leverage these books into sales of her "off Amazon" content, like coaching, courses she has created, and so forth.
Her hope was to use her books to drive a constant stream of new traffic to one specific course she had recently created, and was informally promoting in the book covered in the case study.
Here is what we did, and here are the results.
On May 1, she sold 8 books at 2.99. Her profit on these sales, was roughly 16. (70% of each sale)
A few days before the first of May, we started submitting her book to many other publishing platforms, and pricing the book at "0". (free)
We then notified Amazon that we found her book on other platforms for free, which sets off their "price match guarantee" program.
On the morning of May 2nd, the book was now free on Amazon as well. (which made her VERY nervous... as she was liking that $$15-20 a day income stream for self esteem!)
By the end of the day, her FREE book was downloaded 169 times.
On May 3rd, the book was downloaded 351 times.
In 48 hours, she had gone a high of about 10 books a day, to averaging 250 downloads a day. Her book was now #1 in multiple categories on Amazon as well, in the free section.
Now, she was making no money from these "purchases" as it was a free transaction.
But, we made a few simple modifications to promotional material in the book, adding several big banner ads for promoting another free course she had elsewhere. This generated about 75 clicks to the sign up page for her free course, and generated somewhere around 40 or 50 new students.
Out of those students, just from those 2 days, about 12 have ended up purchasing a premium coaching program she teaches on a video based learning platform.
As I write this, a month later, the book continues to generate anywhere from 50, to 400 downloads a day. It continues to be a major source of free traffic, and it continues to convert strangers into subscribers, and subscribers into sales.
All 100% free. It will work the very SAME for you, no gimmicks, no gadgets, and no goofy gurus required!

How to Drop Ship Online

How to Drop Ship.
First let's explain what it is to drop ship. Basically retail arbitrage is the method of buy low, sell high. You can sell items on selling platforms such as eBay, Amazon, or Bonanza. These are online retail platforms that allow sellers to list an item for sale on their platform(website) for a cut of the sale. Each online retailer has a different % that they take from each sale.
So now we have these different online retailers that we can sell products on. So what it means to drop ship, is that you find popular selling items at an online store that is popular. You then go to whatever selling platform you are using (Amazon, eBay, Bonanza, etc) and list that item for sale at a higher price than your source. You then create a listing and title that is directed towards online customers that are searching for your item. Once your item sells on the selling platform you are using, you then go to your source where you found the item, purchase the item and have it shipped directly to the customer that purchased the item from you. So the difference from how much you charged the customer, and how much you had to spend to purchase the item goes right into your pocket.
The best part is that you didn't purchase anything until someone purchased it from you, and you didn't have to touch the item. No inventory. Sounds pretty crazy, but 3rd party sellers account for an insane amount of sales on these selling platforms. With the amount of online shoppers continuing to increase, the need for 3rd party sellers (drop shippers) will increase. You have to be very professional if you are going to be a drop shipper. You have to be organized and discipline. The concept is very easy to take the idea and put it into action. The amount of money you can make depends on how much work you are willing to put into it. If you work hard, and put up a bunch of listings, the more items you will have available for customers to purchase, in return the more money you can make. More listings = more money.
Once you get into drop shipping, it will turn you on to a world of different opportunities that you would have never thought of. The world of eCommerce is so big.

3 Facebook Advertising Insights

Recommend Article Article Comments Print Article
Expert Author David R Durham
Are you considering advertising on Facebook or are you already doing so? Then these three insights will help your advertising campaigns to be more successful.
Insight One:
Facebook is not primarily an advertising sales platform. I know the managers of Facebook have heavily promoted it as one of the top online advertising platforms out there. And, in many ways, they are correct. It has a fabulously rich marketing database.
So, what do I mean by this statement, that Facebook is not primarily an advertising sales platform?
What I mean is that people's intention for being there is not to buy. We're on Facebook to be social. To share silly pictures or find out what our friends are doing, etc. If we want to buy something, we will go to websites such as eBay or Amazon or Etsy.
What this means for you as an advertiser, is that if you try to sell on Facebook right out of the gate, you will fail. Why? Because there is an instant disconnect between why someone is there on Facebook, and what you are doing.
The way around this problem is for you to give. You have to promote something that gives value to the people who will see your advertisement. In short, you are using Facebook advertising to build a relationship. And, what you're hoping is that further down the road of that relationship, sales will be made.
Insight Two:
At the time of writing this, advertisements with video content get the best views at the lowest average cost. And videos uploaded to Facebook do a lot better than external video links (e.g. YouTube).
This corresponds closely with Insight one above, where it was pointed out that the aim is to build a relationship. And videos can do that relationship building very well.
Insight Three:
Facebook advertising, or any advertising for that matter, is just one link in a sales and marketing chain. You can only expect it to do so much for you.
If we summarise this sales and marketing chain as having four main components: The Market, the Message, the Magnet and the closingMechanism. We can see that a lot of other parts have to come together for a Facebook advertising campaign to be considered successful.
One of the keys to managing this process, is to have metrics in place to measure each component's performance. The Facebook advertising platform provides an extensive array of advert performance statistics. Be sure to concentrate on the one or ones, which apply directly to the bigger picture of your entire sales and marketing processes.
